Years ago I discovered the importance of creating an atmosphere where I could experience God's Presence. God desires all of His people to discover the reality of Who He is - even in the Secret Place of His Presence. Soaking music has been an invaluable means discovered that truly trains your senses to habitually seek the Lord - even providing an atmosphere for prayer and worship.
The Purpose of Soaking Music
The question is asked, “What is the Purpose of Soaking Music?” There are all kinds of music out there, but soaking music has defined itself in it’s own category. With the number of people desiring to have a living experience with God growing exponentially, the purpose of soaking music is to help people continually experience the Holy Spirit’s Presence. Here are three reasons to use soaking music.
I. The Reality of God’s Presence Soaking Music helps bring people into the reality of God’s Presence on a regular basis. Clearly we have access to God’s Presence solely because of the blood of Christ. There is nothing we can add to the work that Jesus has accomplished on the cross
Hebrews 10:19 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Soaking music is simply a tool that help us to experience the reality of His Presence. Worship connects us with the Presence of God. By soaking in the Presence of God, both our physical and spiritual senses are attuned to receive from the Holy Spirit through music. Worship is the atmosphere of heaven and plays a huge role in our experiencing God on a regular basis.
II. The Rest of Jesus Helps people to find the place of rest that Christ has provided for us. Rest is also a benefit that we receive. In a world that is so busy with lots of activities, it is important that we take time to lay down and rest with some soothing anointed music. Jesus said, “Come to me and find rest for your souls…”
Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Music that is inspired by God’s Spirit helps us to enter into His rest, let go of things and just receive in His Presence.
III. Holy Spirit Refreshing Soaking music helps people to discover refreshing through the Holy Spirit. As we are filled with His Presence we are changed. The Holy Spirit is central to have Christ’s influence in our lives. We need to be a people that welcome the Holy Spirit to fill us. Paul exhorts us to be filled with the Spirit:
Ephesians 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”
Soaking music helps us to live a refreshed life. There is power in what we listen to. When we find music that helps us enter into His Presence we are refreshed with God’s love, joy and peace.
