Seven Blessings of Atonement
On September 28th, was the highest holy day of the year in Israel, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It was a time of fasting, weeping and repentance. It is also when we remembered that Jesus shed His blood as our High Priest and sprinkled it on the mercy seat. Many people turned their hearts back to the Lord during this time with Johnathon Cahn’s Return event on the National Mall and Franklin Graham’s DC Prayer March. It was a wonderful weekend! Now today, the Lord has a special word for you: God is releasing increase into the earth. Joel 2:23-24 says, “Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you the autumn rains because He is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.” I see this increase happening now. God is releasing the vats of heaven upon you – new wine, new grain, and new oil are coming forth. He is releasing a double-portion blessing and financial abundance on you as you lend your heart to Him, repent, pray, seek His face, and allow Him to cleanse you. There are even more blessings that are available to you this season when you remember the Lord, bring Him an offering, and position yourself before Him. I encourage you to read and study Joel 2. There you will also see that the Lord will bring salvation to those who call His name, restoration, miracles, deliverance, a blessing on your sons and daughters and His divine presence. Joel 2:19-32 shares the seven blessings that come upon your life when you stand before the Lord with thanksgiving, praise and gratefulness for what He has done. This season is not about giving an offering just to get something but to bless and honor the Lord. God says, “I am already going to give these blessings to you because of your repentant heart and your desire to honor Me.”
Deuteronomy 16:16-17 says, “Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place He will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.” The Feasts of Tabernacles is coming up on October 2nd- 9th. It’s the last fall feast of this season. I want you to remember to bless the Lord during this time with an offering. An offering is above your tithe. Bless your church with an offering or bless a ministry that has made a deposit into your life. For years, I have seen great financial increase and a double portion blessing on my life as I have continued to bless the Lord with an offering during this season. I encourage you, if God lays an offering on your heart with which to bless a ministry, go and do it. It is an act of obedience in accordance with Deuteronomy 16:16-17. This is a special time of the year that we can honor Him. Through your giving, you are lifting your voice to Him. You are praising His name! God is bringing you a double portion, a financial blessing, along with all the other blessings of this season. He’s doing great and amazing things in your new year of 5781. Give Him honor today!
