'12 Scriptures To Help You See God' Jennifer LeClaire

For many years, I’ve asked God to create in me a clean heart. Purity of heart is critical for believers. God wants us to love Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and all of our strength (see Luke 10:27). Without a pure heart, we’ll have a heart divided between God and idols.

If you’re like me and you are in pursuit of attaining and maintaining a pure heart, meditate on these verses:

Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Psalm 119:9, “How shall a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.”

1 Corinthians 6:18, “Escape from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man commits is outside the body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.”

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the lust of depravity, even as the Gentiles who do not know God…”

Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Colossians 3:5, “Therefore put to death the parts of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

Ephesians 5:5, “For this you know, that no sexually immoral or impure person, or one who is greedy, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.”

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the lust of depravity, even as the Gentiles who do not know God, and that no man take advantage of and defraud his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness. Therefore he that despises does not despise man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.”

Psalm 24:3-4, “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”
