The Lord said, “Stop doing what you want to do and do what I want to do!"
My husband and I have been looking for some acreage north of Houston for a while now. Recently, I was lamenting to the Lord about the seeming lack of progress in our quest. We have some pretty specific requirements that must be met, because this land has to fulfill Kingdom requirements as well as personal. To say the least, it’s been challenging.
Plus, it is absolutely astounding how expensive land is! What I thought was a sizable amount of money to purchase some land seems to be nowhere near what it will take to accomplish this God-sized goal.
As I rehearsed this over and over in my head – hear that I was “PRAYING” - I suddenly realized that I was dissatisfied! I repented immediately for having a spirit of dissatisfaction. As soon as I did this, I heard the Lord say, "Stop doing what you want to do and do what I want to do!"
“Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!” (Isaiah 60:1 AMPC).
The enemy comes to “DIS” us! I realized that I had been trying to make this thing happen with my own set of requirements, in my own power, instead of allowing God to do it! I was trying to do what I wanted to do – instead of what God wants me to do. This allowed the enemy to come in and “DIS-Satisfy” me!
Don’t you know the enemy is always trying to “DIS” us? He comes to steal, kill and destroy by DIS-ing us! He will try to DIS-Appointus! He is trying to make us miss our God-appointed destiny for our lives! He is trying to DIS-Approve us! He is trying to get us where we feel inferior and unworthy, and unwilling or unable to move forward into our God-approved destinies! And he is trying to DIS-Satisfy us, making us believe that we can do it faster, better and more effectively than God!
God wants us to be FULLY-FULL!
The Lord reminded me that true satisfaction comes not from getting what WE want, but from getting what HE wants! When God puts a dream in our heart, He will full-fill it and us, filling us up to the fullest!
He gave me an epiphany that He wants us to be FULLY-FULL! To be FULLY-FULL is like cramming a suitcase so full that we have to sit on the lid to zip it! It’s like putting so much food into a plastic container that we have to apply an immense amount of pressure, and move quickly to latch the lid before the food pops out! God wants us FULLY FULL! This ONLY comes by doing what HE wants us to do because then we will get what He wants us to have! Then and only then will we be truly satisfied!
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart,” (Psalm 37:4 AMPC).
God will give us what we ask for when it lines up with His word and His will! So ASK!
“[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am],” (John 14:14 AMPC).
Getting to do what He wants us to do, and accomplishing “God-goals”, are truly the only measure of real satisfaction!
Do it His Way - SUPER-naturally!
Talking to my husband later about our land search, he said, “Of course it’s not working, because we are going about it carnally. We are not doing it spiritually.” How true! He went on to say that we were looking for land the world’s way – using “natural” methods, instead of SUPER-natural methods, God’s way!
Immediately, I said we needed a vision board: to write the vision and make it plain, so that we can read it as we run by (see Habbakkuk 2:2). We got a big piece of poster board and started writing down the requirements for our God-goal property and taped it on the fridge! Now, every time we go into the kitchen we can SEE the vision – our new land!
Writing the vision is just one of many ways to pull God’s desires for us out of the super into the natural. We can call them into existence (see Romans 4:17); we can speak to them (see Mark 11:23); we can bless them (see Matthew 14:19); we can decree a thing (see Job 22:28) and many, many more! You simply MUST understand: we have up to HALF THE KINGDOM (see Esther 5:3, repeated again in Esther 7:2). This means that we can have whatever we desire, as long as it is in His will and in His Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name!
Are you dissatisfied? Repent and start using supernatural methods instead of natural methods to attain what God wants for you! He has already set up the template and given us the blueprints. Follow them! Do it HIS WAY! Remember: We are IN the world, but not OF it!
“They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world,” (John 17:16).
Many blessings and abundance to you as you become FULLY-FULL!
